Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Tone Labs, LLC (“Tone”, “we”) for using the Tone app and this website. By using Tone, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Tone.

Who can use Tone

You need to be 18 or over to use Tone. You sign in with your Apple ID, and you're responsible for what happens on your account.

Tone is not medical advice

Tone helps you keep track of what you eat and drink. It isn't a medical device, and it doesn't give medical, nutritional or health advice. Its calorie, macro, water and caffeine targets are general estimates worked out from what you tell it.

Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before you change how you eat, especially if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have or have had an eating disorder, have a medical condition, or take medication. Stop and get help if anything about how you eat or feel worries you.

Estimates can be wrong

Tone works out foods and nutrition from what you say, photograph or scan, using food databases and AI. It will sometimes get things wrong, which is why you can check and change every food before it's logged. Nutrition figures are estimates, and you're responsible for checking anything that matters to you, such as allergens.

Your content

What you log and say to Tone is yours. You give us permission to store and process it to run Tone for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you add a product Tone doesn't know, you give us permission to check it and, once it's approved, to make its name, nutrition and photos part of Tone's food database for everyone, without your name. Please only add information that's accurate and that you're allowed to share.

Using Tone fairly

Please don't:

• Use Tone for anything unlawful, or to harm anyone.
• Try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours, or interfere with how Tone works.
• Copy, scrape or resell Tone or its food database.
• Submit false, offensive or infringing content, such as when adding a product or sending feedback.

Tone's own content

Tone, its design, its name and logo, Clover, and its food database belong to Tone Labs, LLC. You can use Tone for your own personal, non-commercial use. Our Brand page sets out how our logos may be used.

Paid features

Tone is free to use today. If we add paid features, we'll show you their price and terms before you buy, and purchases on iPhone are handled by Apple under its terms.

Changes and ending

We may change Tone, add or remove features, or stop offering it. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.

You can stop using Tone and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Disclaimers and liability

Tone is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available, error free, or that its estimates will be accurate, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Tone.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.
